Join us for the second in the "Perspective on the Parks" series about the waterfront parks.  These unique evenings of performance and discussion are underwritten by the Florida Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.  This evening's performance will be by singer Sharon Scott, who last appeared at Studio@620 to wide acclaim for her portrayal of gospel singer Mahalia Jackson.  The evening's discussion will be moderated by former Mayor Rick Baker and look at how St. Petersburg's history of segregation affected who used the waterfront parks.  The panel exploring this topic will include noted historian and author Dr. Raymond Arsenault, lifelong St. Petersburg resident James Oliver and attorney Jacqueline Hubbard.  An opportunity for questions to the panel will be provided.  Come early to the reception starting at 6 pm (cash bar) to meet the panel members.  The program will start at 7 pm.  Limited parking is available behind Studio@620 (parking entrance on 2nd Ave. S.) and parking will be available on the street around Studio@620.  Registration is encouraged.
